Jamboree 2011
2011 Band Line-up - Saturday
KIRSTEN NERBAS is a 14 year old young lady from Brandon. She has been singing most of her life. She began performing in front of a live audience at the Shopper's Mall at the Back to School Karaoke. She then went to the Orange Crush Talent Search and in the last Talent Search ever she placed First. She will be performing at her Grade 8 school graduation this year.
Porter Dunn, one of our 2011 recipients is Kirsten's cousin so she is really looking forward to singing for him and all her family who will be attending the Jamboree.
We welcome Kristen to the Jamboree stage and can hardly wait to hear her sing.
The Cookshack Shakers – You might say The Cookshack Shakers Band was born at the Jamboree. A couple of years ago Rod had someone cancel in the line-up and what to do? He had been jamming in the campground with a group of local musicians, so out to the Campground he went. It did not take long for four or five musicians to gather their instruments and head to the stage. The core group is Phil Wilkes, on guitar and vocals, with John Spaller on bass guitar, and Grant Carter on drums. The rest of the band consists of whoever may be in the campground that weekend.

Swamp Gas The Swamp Gas group are a well known and loved band from Neepawa. They wowed the crowd last year with their lively acoustic, folk, Irish and East Coast Music. Members are Blair Chapman, Ron Nordstrom, Lorne and Greg. You can learn more about the Swamp Gas gang on their website www.swampgas.ca We look forward to having them back with us in 2011.

George Anderson and Ray Krupa are no strangers to the Little Valley Jamboree. Everyone loves George's easy way of singing his songs. Most of his songs he wrote himself and he has a couple of Cd's to his credit. Ray Krupa does a great job of backing up George and his fiddle makes every ones toes start tapping.
Sandy Campbell, Michael Campbell, George Anderson, Ray Krupa and Stacey McIvor

Scott Cornelius
Scott Cornelius is a 13 year old fiddle player who is a true showman. You will not be able to sit in your seat when he begins to play. He has won numerous awards and is a true phenomena.
He honoured our stage in 2010 and he is back by popular demand. Please let him know how much we admire his performance.

Gerri and Laura do some fancy stepping on the dance floor and maybe they will give us another lesson this year.

Michael Campbell from Kinisota is a multi-talented musician and singer. Michael has two CD's out, one called Coming Home and a new one just out called Broken Dreams. All songs on the CD's are original and Michael has graciously donated a portion of CD's sales from the recent Alonsa's “Jamming for Kids” to our Jamboree kids. Thank you Michael.
We are looking forward to you back on the Jamboree stage. You can learn more and chat with Michael on Facebook

Lori Larsen from Erickson has her own Karaoke business and performs at lots of community functions. She has got quite a few Erickson people singing who do not normally sing. So, that is a good thing. Lori always sings a few songs for us as we are changing bands and we thank Lori for that.
May Vann is new to the Jamboree but she is certainly not new to performing on stage. May sings Classic Country. She has been to Nashville. And has CD's out. We are looking forward to meeting her and listening to her sing. May comes to us from Alberta and is here visiting friends in Brandon who are big supporters of the Jamboree.
You can learn more about May at

The Chris Barker Band from Dauphin opened up the Jamboree in 2010. This year they agreed to come to play for our Saturday night dance. So let's fill the dance floor and dance all night long. Clifford Flett (manager and playing acoustic and vocals, formed this Metis Family Band with his sons and nephews: Chris Flett lead guitar, Curtis Flett drums, Cliff Flett acoustic, Waylon Lafreniere bass guitar and vocals. This year they are bringing a young fiddle player with them.
In 2009 they were nominated for SIX categories at the Aboriginal Peoples Choice Awards. They have had 2 #1 hits, Six String Highway and Rock and Roll Getaway. They performed at the Dauphin Countryfest in 2010. You can learn more about this great band on the web, ChrisBarker Band/Dauphin.

Elvis (aka Dave Green) from Moosehorn, MB is back by popular demand also and we give him a huge welcome from all the ladies.
Elvis has been to the Jamboree before and we are delighted to see him again
Elvis loves children and is always available for fundraisers that involve children. He has a big heart and a big voice and we look forward to hearing him again in 2011.
Geoffrey Gilmer is a well known and loved singer at the Jamboree. Two years ago he had his band Wildhorse with him and they are back again.
Geoffrey has also filled in with songs for us during band changes, and has been available for any job we throw at him. Welcome back Geoffrey!!

Cooked and Done , this dynamic duo need no introduction. They have been with us almost since day one and are members of the Little Valley Jamboree Committee.
When we met them in 1999 they were “Singing for Kids” in Brandon and they are still singing for kids, the Jamboree Special Children. They have huge hearts and always entertain the crowd.
Some of the Road Crew –Shawnda, Bonnie, Joan, Les and Joan, Les.

The White Lightning Band from Kinosota with Ronnie Anderson, family and friends.
Ronnie has been singing and playing music since he was old enough to walk or before. He and his band have been at the Jamboree many times but this is the first time in Erickson, so the Erickson people are in for a treat and they better wear their dancing shoes.
Ronnie and his band have played everywhere in the country I think including the States and they were at the Vancouver Olympics in 2010.
So, we are very pleased that they have made it back to the Jamboree.

They have played wherever a good band was needed, the North 40 in Brandon, the MTS center in Winnipeg, Country Fest, The Asham Stomperfest, and many others.
We are sure happy they will be with us in June.
